Celebration of Britishness:
Due to the circumstances, I had to change some of my final outcomes. Here's some of the things I decided to make, while in isolation at home.

Inspired by the style I used in my London zine, I decided to create an A3 ink drawing featuring British people that I find iconic from Freddie Mercury, to Jarvis Cocker, to Frank Sidebottom, to Twiggy and Mr. Blobby.
After making this animation, I decided to take a few characters and place them into an animation:
Here's some of the test animations I made before piecing the whole animation together:

Decided to create a subsection of work inspired by "British" things from brands to music. Most of the brands are either ones I have grown up with, find nostalgic, or know are "British staples". Most of these works are made sort of spontaneously, but I think they all fit together nicely.
Since being at home, I'm definitely finding myself being more experimental and trying out ideas, I didn't attempt before.

I came across a Colman's apple sauces bottle in the shop and I decided to put my own twist to it. Initially, it was going to be a painting, but after a while, I decided to turn it into a digital painting.

While I was doing some artist research I came across Slinkachu on instagram. I studied his work in secondary school. A lot of is work is based on miniatures, so I came up with this idea of drawing vintage swimmers diving into a tin of Baked Beans.
Made in Britain: food for thought
I found it quite funny how many of us have similar experiences with food regardless to how long we've been in Britain or when we were born.
I decided to make a zine that looked into shared food experiences:

While writing my project review I realised that though I had made a zine that commemorated British Asians, I could do more. Initially after making my zine on 'Nostalgic Treats' I thought I should make another zine that looked into things people think are British but actually exist because of immigrants.
Initial poster design I scrapped:

I was struggling with deciding how I wanted to present my information. Initially, I wanted to make a poster then I started thinking about the target audience. An issue I had with my education especially in primary school was the fact we learnt about the British Empire, but only the "good" bits. In order to change that I wanted to make something aimed at primary school kids but more importantly, I wanted to make something I wish I had growing up. In British culture, it is known that we drink tea and eat fish and chips, but what is always forgotten is the fact these things only came about because of immigrants. Instead of a poster, I decided to make a set of educational fact snap cards. I'm hoping with this game it will shine a positive light on the good impactful effect immigrants have had to the British culture, so much so, these things are a staple in our culture. In the light of Brexit, I want to make something poignant that celebrated immigration in Britain.
After doing research I decided to make fact cards on;
tea,
ketchup,
st. George,
M&S,
pubs,
fish and chips
and Freddie Mercury
